YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AT THE CENTRE OF KZN ECONOMIC RECOVERY STRATEGY and SALESIAN INSTITUTE YOUTH PROJECTS STITCH AHEAD PROGRAMME EMPOWERS 15 PHENOMENAL WOMEN

The National Development Agency (NDA), will host a virtual Policy Dialogue on the Role of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) as Peacemakers during Civil Unrest in South Africa under the theme - “Strengthening Peace-making Capacities: CSOs' Contributions to Sustainable Social Harmony in South Africa.” This follows a research study conducted by the NDA on the role of CSOs as peacemakers during social unrest in South Africa. The research was completed in September 2023.

As the country commemorates Women’s Month under the theme “Women’s socio-economic rights and empowerment: Building better for the women’s improved resilience,” the National Development Agency (NDA) celebrates women of Maamahlale Agric Primary Cooperative Limited in rural Balloon Village, who are contributing to economic development in their area.

As Mandela Month is being commemorated, the National Development Agency (NDA) in Limpopo, in collaboration with the Limpopo Church Network (LCN), Nelson Mandela Foundation and other stakeholders, hosted an event to commemorate Mandela Month. The event included the handing over of a cheque to Hayekian Stimulation Centre, an NDA funded project based in Tzaneen, Muhlava Cross.

South Africa has dedicated the month of June to the commemoration of young people’s role in socio-political and economic activities. As the month draws to a close, the National Development Agency (NDA) is proud to announce that, it has collaborated with Afrika Tikkun Services and placed twenty-two (22) young people at its national and Gauteng provincial offices on an Internship programme.

As the country commemorates youth month under the theme “Accelerating Youth Economic Emancipation for a Sustainable Future,” The National Development Agency (NDA) celebrates young people of Isinkwa Sethemba Primary Cooperative who are contributing to local economic development.

The 2023 National Youth Day and Youth Month will be celebrated under the theme: “Accelerating youth economic emancipation for a sustainable future”. In line with this theme, the youth of Tendela Village in uMgungundlovu District, started Abalimi Multipurpose Primary Cooperative which focuses on agricultural produce.

As the country celebrates Youth Month under Government’s 2023 theme “Accelerating Youth Economic Emancipation for a Sustainable Future,” youth-led organisations such as Intandekho Agricultural Primary Cooperative; aims to create employment in their communities to address the plight of youth unemployment facing South Africa, while also responding to food insecurity in their community.
